Nonkululeko Busisiwe is a poet, a writer of fiction and a budding film director situated in Cape Town, South Africa.
I have authored an experimental Online analogue titled If Arriving First Means Being Alone. In some crowds I am known for my work in film production, having co-produced a short screened for an audience at The Cape Town Shotties Film Festival2016.
Before pursuing an undergraduate degree in English Literature, I studied Law and Political Sciences at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Howard Campus. At 21 I Opted for a career rooted in creative expression. Inspired by my time studying Political Sciences as part of the Law School program in UKZN, I have dedicated time developing my skills as an investigative journalist. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature; Media Studies; and Film and Television Studies from the University of Cape Town.
I am driven by ideas of social cohesion, respect and prosperity. My work is experimental and provocative. I aim to project the strength and fragility that defines the experiences of womxnhood. Onomatopoeic words are my favorite word group.
Born in Durban, South Africa. My father was in Politics and my mother an Educator.
